The Ali Shuffle involves a quick and flashy footwork pattern where Ali rapidly lifts his lead foot, often his left, followed by a quick step forward or backward, and then repeats the motion with the other foot. Ali first unveiled the Ali Shuffle during his famous "Rumble in the Jungle" bout against George Foreman on October 30, 1974, in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). It was a pivotal moment in the fight when Ali employed the shuffle to confound Foreman, who was known for his powerful punches.
